Fundamentals of Novell eDirectory (Novell 3017) (5 days)

The Fundamentals of Novell eDirectory course (Course 3017) enables IT professionals to perform directory-related administrative tasks using eDirectory 8.7.3 on a cross-platform network that includes NetWare 6.5, Windows 2003 Server, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8.1 platforms. Students will learn the design principles that are key to planning an optimized eDirectory tree for an organization and the critical infrastructure processes that enable eDirectory to reliably maintain and securely replicate directory data on cross-platform servers over LANs and WANs.

Recommended Pre-requisites

The prerequisite knowledge for this course includes:

Experience with proprietary operating systems including NetWare 6.5 and Windows 2003
Familiarity with a Linux server and management tasks performed on a Linux server
Fundamental knowledge of networking technologies such DNS/DHCP, TCP/IP, etc.
